What if we offered all of that...what if we created a harmony of vision, clarity, thought, idea, transformation: a FRESH START. Starr house a vision of people devoted to people a oneness, of single purpose.

OUR ATMOSPHERE :: We work as a team and encourage clients to work with all members of our staff. If your regular stylist or colorist is not available at the time you desire an appointment, or if you would simply enjoy a fresh point of view, please feel free to schedule with whomever you wish.

Our space is not a safe space for babies and young children. In order for you to enjoy your salon experience and for your peace of mind we would greatly appreciate leaving children at home during your salon visit.

Smocks are provided for your comfort. We recommend you use a smock for all chemical services in order to preserve your clothing.

STARR HOUSE guarantees all of our work. If you are not completely satisfied with your service we are happy to work with you until you are happy with your new look. To that end we do not offer refunds for professional services.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER :: KAREN MILNE Karen Milne, a native of Scotland, started her career in 1988 after receiving her degree in beauty therapy from Glasgow college.

Taking a job with internationally recognized beauty leaders Clarins Paris, she traveled to both day spas and top retail stores marketing and training specialists in skin care, make up and beauty. After achieving top honors with Clarins, Milne opened her own high end day spa and retail store in her hometown , Elgin, Scotland. Achieving almost instant success Milne was a regular feature in the newspaper, collected international awards and later began writing a column for a Scottish glossy magazine and appearing weekly on a radio show. Milne dedicated hundreds of hours to community work donating both money and time to get the only hospice in Moray Scotland opened.

After giving so much to her own country Milne decided to spread her wings overseas. Meeting Reg Laws a native of England, owner of PR PARTNERS international hair salons based in Washington DC, Milne took a position of Spa Director. Her job was to integrate day spas into Laws already successful hair salons.

Karen moved to the West Coast and purchased the "Arrangement Hair Salon", which she transformed into Starr House The Salon in San Marino, Ca.

	Clara Clara Rosales loves to make people feel good with hair and make-up. She has had the privilege to work with and be inspired by some amazing stylists and is currently working on becoming a Redken artist. Finding knowledge powerful she is ready to share. She specializes in hair design and color.
	Jenn With her eye on fashion and current trends, Jenn Alva never misses a beat when it comes to re-inventing your look. With over a decade experience in the industry, she specializes in color, especially blondes, and hair extensions. Her education comes for as far as NYC and her sparkling smile and warm personality will make you leaving like a Starr!
	Mars Creative and passionate Mars Lopez is a leader in the creative edge of the beauty industry. As a biligual educator for Redken 5th Ave she had the opportunity to share core techniques through the United States and Latin America. She specializes in all of fashions best shades. Her work has been publised in Passion, LA Weekly, People, Collection Estilismo Actual.
	Rene With over seventeen years in the industry, Director of Education Rene Agurcia's work has been seen on the runways, the red carpet, film, music videos and local publications. You can always expect a friendly smile and an amazing customized look created just for you.
	Pat Pat Ito earned a AA degree in art and cosmetology 20 years ago adding a clinical excellence award to her achievements in 1989. She enjoys persueing continued education and one of the highlights being a Redken training course in NYC in 2002. Pat’s daily inspiration comes from her passion of art as well as her loyal clientele.

	Karen Milne Born in Scotland and graduated with a degree in Beauty Therapy from Glasgow College. After 6 years of travelling throughout the UK for Clarins, European skin care leaders, I opened a day spa, which was the first of its kind in my hometown, Elgin. .
During this time I also lectured at Moray college, wrote a monthly feature for a Scottish glossy magazine, hosted a weekly beauty programme on local radio and was fundraiser for "A Hospice in Moray", my local area. I sold the spa 10 years later to relocate to Washington DC where I became Spa Director for a British entrepreneur, integrating day spas into his 15 existing hair salons. Later, I moved to Pasadena, purchased the Arrangement Hair Salon, known today as Starr House The Salon. At Starr House my role is coordinating the operations of the business, managing the front desk & providing makeup and waxing services. In addition, if you have a special event or want to learn how to apply your own makeup, I am here for you!
	Albert From the HBO TV show "Carnival" this Emmy accredited stylist is famous for his formal styling and "updos." A veteran in the industry and a loyal employee of Starr House Albert's speciality is color and hair cutting and he is particularly creative with very fine textured and curly hair! He is gentle, kind, friendly and consistent.
	Lora Our nail technician has had a client following for over 20 years and can turn any pair of hands or feet into perfection. Her massage will leave you feeling pampered and relaxed. Your beautiful nails will be the envy of all your friends!!
	Iwona This fashionable European stylist is also Vidal Sassoon educated and possesses a talent for long hair, highlites and color. She is efficient and stylish and joined Starr House after Beauty School almost 5 years ago. Iwona also specializes in Brazilian Keratin Chemical free straightening.
	Jenniffer A naturally talented stylist, Jen specializes in all services, particularly popular for her blow drying and highlites with teenagers,their moms, and even their grandmothers!! Jennifer also specializes in Brazilian Keratin Chemical free straightening. She is flexible and reliable and has been an asset to our team for 4 years!
	Kimberly Vidal Sassoon educated and known for her debut on the Bravo TV hit series "Blowout" Kimberly came to us a number of years ago from Frank Studio at Bergamont Station, Santa Monica where she specialized in hair color and cutting. Very thorough with all her work, she has a natural flair with short styles and precision "bobs," gents hair and all hair textures from curly to Asian hair.
	Norma Specializing in color and cutting our newest "Starr" Norma brings a fresh and fashionable approach to her hair services. Her beautiful personality and natural flair make her clients feel like royalty!
	Raul With an edgy flair and a natural talent with hair color and haircutting, Raul Preciado has over a decade in the industry working both behind the scenes on runway shows and in the salon, having been educated throughout the US. His loyal following love his trendy, modern approach. He enjoys a hair challenge in both long and short styles.
